Anne van den Ban Fund

Imagine for a moment that you are a smart student from a developing country. You have finished your  bachelor with good grades and you would love to do a master at a top university in your field. There is one problem, you and your family can’t afford the tuition fees and living costs…..

Studying at a top university has to stay a dream for a lot of talented students, unless they can get a scholarship.

This year you can help students that are less fortunate than you. Just one euro can make a big difference in someone’s life. That is why the Anne van den Ban Scholarship Fund is the charity connected to the AID this year.

Every year the fund supports around 20 students and enables them to come to Wageningen for a Master programme. After graduation they return to their countries and contribute to sustainable development.

What you can do to help students from developing countries:

  • Pay a few euros extra when you register for the AID
  • Get a university fund money box and collect you small change till Valentine’s Day 2018.
  • Donate your cup to the fund at the parties

Your small effort can make a big difference in someone’s life. Take Leah for Uganda who now studies Plant Sciences in Wageningen: “I am here for my country thanks to small donations that added up to a scholarship. The best gift is the gift of knowledge!”.

Join in and help other students! As Nelson Mandela put it: Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world”.
